1st day of free agency draws to a close-Omar heads to Puerto Rico

With Omar heading to Puerto Rico for a fund raiser involving Carlos Beltran, Omar Minaya plans to chat with Carlos Delgado as per a story in Newsday.
Of course Omar will not make a play for Mr D until he has played in some games Next month.

With the first 24 hours close to being the books we look at a couple of the Rumors going around.

the Mets started off in the rumor mill with a 3 team trade with the Mets trading Castillo to the Cubs , Milton Bradley going to the Rangers and the Mets obtaining former brave Pitcher Kevin Millwod from the Rangers. Cubs and Rangers reps have said its not happening.

Even though Jason Bay has nixed a deal to be paid 60 mill over 4 years by the Red Sox, Peter Gammons still thinks the Red Sox will sign the Left Fielder for around 64M

The Cubs were contacted by the Blue Jays regarding Roy Halladay and there has been some chat that the Dodgers might be in the mix as well.

Omar Visquel looks ready to sign a deal with the White Sox .
