As we close out the night here on the east coast the Mets had Henry Blanco come in for a physical and have signed him to a 1 yr deal worth about 1.5M as reported by the Posts Bart Hubbach. The Mets will be the 8th team Blanco has caught for.
The Mets might have had some interest in Chone Figgins for Left Field but the Seattle Mariners are making a hard charge for the former Angel. There are reports that have surfaced that the Mariners are rumored to offer Mr Figgins a deal of over to 30M for a 4 year commitment .
If the Mets want to continue there run at former Phillies, Matt Stairs does not look like he will return . He was advised by there GM Amaro to pursue other opportunities. Of course he fits the Mets M O since he is older then basically everyone except for Randy Johnson.
