Mets' disabled & walking wounded...

I know it seems, at times, that half the team is on the disabled list, or, on the active roster, and described as "day-to-day." Think about it, aren't we all "day-to-day ?"

According to the Mets' 40-man roster, which currently has 39 players on it, there is room to add someone, and call that player up to the major league roster, if Moises Alou needs to go back onto the disabled list. Alou is still an active player, with an injured calf. Johan Santana pitches today, and is recovering from a bruised left shoulder, which occurred during his last start when he attempted to bunt, missed the pitch, and the ball hit him in his pitching shoulder.

Met players currently on the disabled list (all are on the 15-day DL) are...

Ryan Church (concussion)
Matt Wise (pain in his right (pitching) shoulder)
Angel Pagan (left shoulder contusion after that brilliant catch)
Orlando Hernandez (recovery from right foot surgery)
Ambiorix Burgos (recovery from right (pitching) elbow surgery)
Jason Vargas (recovery from left hip surgery)

Get well soon, guys !!!
