Put Alou on the DL...

Does this team learn from its mistakes ?

They completely screwed up the timing of placing Ryan Church onto the disabled list, and have been justifiably criticized for risking the long-term health of Church, a player they expect to have as a Met for years, as he is relatively young, and nowhere near free agent eligibility. By letting him fly after a concussion, pinch-hit, and play the field, without letting him fully heal FIRST, they risked his long-term health. Also, by not putting him onto the D.L. immediately, they reduce their available roster from 25 to 24 players, until Church was put onto the D.L.

Now, Alou is in a similar situation, unable to play, but, not on the D.L. The Mets have just played consecutive extra inning games, do not have a day off until June 19th, David Wright needs a day off, his fatigue showing in his June stats, and AGAIN, the Mets are operating with a 24 man roster.

WHEN WILL THEY LEARN ?

The sad part is that they have been doing this throughout the Omar/Willie reign. They repeatedly fail to make timely decisions to place players onto the D.L. and it hurts the potential in-game management, by not having the maximum 25 players available to help.

PUT ALOU ONTO THE D.L.

Play Chris Aguila in LF every day while Alou is disabled, and let's see what he can do. Tatis, Easley, and M. Anderson are out of position in LF, and we know what they can do.

If Alou goes to the D.L., who should be called up ? Val Pascucci.

The Mets have 39 players on their 40 man roster right now, so there is room for Pascucci to be added. Pascucci has been playing RF & 1B. He's a righty hitter, and can be platooned with Delgado at 1B, or he can start every day in RF. We know what Chavez can do. Let's see what a 29 year old Pascucci can do. He already has 12 homers, and 30 RBI's, and it's obvious this team needs more power. Aguila and Pascucci were hitting with power at AAA.

START AGUILA & PASCUCCI EVERY DAY IN LF & RF, AND LET'S SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO !!!
