We reported that the Mets have claimed Andy Phillips, 1B, off waivers. The Mets are off on Thursday, and have a day/night doubleheader vs. the Yankees, on Friday. They do not have to announce roster moves until shortly before the day game.
3rd catcher Robinson Cancel may be sent back to AAA, to activate Phillips.
Also, Ryan Church may be activated sometime before the end of the series vs. the Yankees. Trot Nixon has struggled offensively, showing some power, but not enough batting average. He may be optioned to AAA if Church is activated.
We'll keep an eye out for roster moves, that probably will not be announced until Friday.
