Shea was alive last night! Even with the grim reaper in attendance met fans came out in droves last night to support their team. It was nice to see an announced paid attendance actually at the park!! Even after Mr. Hamilton hit his 18th Home Run of the year in the first, met fans were screaming and cheering the minute Mr Reyes made it safely to first base.! Met fans I spoke with all have different ideas on whats wrong with this team but the one thing that seems to be on everyone's mind is the fact they want something done sooner then later so we don't lose out the entire summer.!! It was nice to see Perez not fold under pressure and keep it together by getting a key strikeout with the bases loaded.! Gump was pretty relaxed after that win which I guess after how the day unfolded it was needed . After the game Omar announced a pick up of Trot Nixon and hopefully his gamer attitude will infuse these mets into a little winning streak? Is that asking too much?

The Mets, and Willie's sanity, sorely needed an easy win. Hopefully, adding Nixon, a Pedro favorite, adds a needed jolt. Willie did a great job being very aggressive with baserunners, early in the game. He needs to do this more often, as having an early lead, relaxes any starter. This was a SORELY needed win. Nice to give Wagner the night off. Mentally this game was a relief to everyone, including the fans. This must have been a good game to enjoy, in person.
