Another Win, Another Star...Easley Home Run Wins It...

Wow. We are in the groove, here. The Mets won their 7th straight, for the first time since Aug. 2006, beating the Rockies 2-1. The Phils also won, so the Mets are still 1 and 1/2 games out of first.

Nice pitching duel between Aaron Cook and Ollie "I can pitch against a bad team," Perez. Of course, he did walk the bases loaded, but was able to get out of it. The Mets pitching walked 9 in this game, but the Rockies came up short, every time. The Mets have won their last 4 games, giving up only 3 hits, in each. That is something amazing, when it comes to how the Mets' pitching has held the Giants, and the Rockies. Of course, they are in the cellar, of their divisions.

Have to give kudos to Damion Easley, for his home run, with 2 out, in the bottom of the 8th. He has really come through for the Mets, this year. Ron and Gary on SNY gush over him, like he is the bomb.

The one thing you have seen with the Mets, during these last 2 weeks, is the fact that Mets are hustling. Even Carlos Delgado, who had a single, but, saw the Rockies outfielder Hawpe bobble the ball, and stretched it into a double. The guys on SNY also pointed out that Jose Reyes is thinking more, probably after being talked to by Jerry Manuel, regarding how he takes leads, when he is on first. In the past, you could tell if Jose was getting ready to run, by the way he leads off of first. Now, he is leading like he is taking off, every time, and I think it places more pressure on the pitcher, because now, they have to guess more, on what he is doing...
