Claudio Vargas Clears Waivers, Will Report To AAA New Orleans...

Thankfully, Claudio Vargas has cleared waivers. With Sidney Ponson claimed by the Yankees, and someone probably going to give Shawn Chacon another chance, I was very surprised that Claudio Vargas was not claimed.

I am thrilled it did not happen. Vargas was effective as the Mets' 5th starter, but, struggled when Pedro returned, and Vargas was converted to a long reliever.

I have a feeling the Mets will need Vargas again, and he can be useful.
