Come Fly With Me…

Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away…

Once I get you up there, where the air is rarefied
Well just glide, starry eyed
Once I get you up there, I’ll be holding you so near
You may here, angels cheer - because were together

Come fly with me, we’ll fly, we’ll fly away…

Sung by the incomparable, legendary, Mr. Frank Sinatra

If you saw Carlos Muniz, in yesterday’s game, and wondered, wasn’t he at AAA, he was recalled when Tony Armas Jr. was placed onto the disabled list, with an abdominal strain.

Muniz is this year’s leading candidate to win the Heath Bell shuttle award, rapidly accumulating frequent flyer miles between AAA New Orleans and New York City.

Most Mets are veteran players, out of minor-league options, who, like Andy Phillips, have to be designated for assignment, and risk being claimed on waivers (like Phillips was by the Reds), before being optioned to the minor leagues. Therefore, Carlos Muniz, who still has minor league options, is the frequent option when the Mets need to make a roster move, and send someone to AAA.
