Kevin Burkhardt, of SNY, mentioned in his pre-game report, that since Moises Alou is not immediately available, the Mets may send Carlos Muniz to AAA New Orleans, and recall an outfielder, prior to today’s game.
Manager Jerry Manuel has wanted to give Carlos Beltran a day off, but with a shortened 4-man bench, Alou not ready, and Luis Castillo banged up, that plan has been delayed.
However, with an outfielder (Chris Aguila ? Val Pascucci ?) expected to be called up today, Beltran is expected to rest tonight.
