Mets' manager, Jerry Manuel, was ejected from last night's game, after the umpires huddled, and reversed their initial call, awarding a home run to the Phillies' Ryan Howard.
I don't see Manuel breaking Bobby Cox' all-time record for ejections anytime soon, so I don't mind him showing a competitive fire, fighting for his team, and his players, and occasionally getting tossed out of a game.
I respect Manuel's competitive fire, and hope that he and my "bro," Benigno find a qualified cardiologist, and outlets for relaxation.
In Manuel's defense, I can understand why he reads so much about Ghandi, a calming influence. Watching this Mets' team can lead one to outbursts like the one he had last night, leading to his ejection.
More power to you, Jerry. I love your sense of humor, enthusiasm, holding players' accountable, and your competitive fire.
