Joe Benigno hosts a daytime talk show on WFAN with Evan Roberts. They're entertaining to listen to, but, Benigno really shines on SNY's "Daily News Live," where you can see the beautiful madness that is Joe Benigno.
I LOVE BENIGNO, because of his passion. He admits frequently that he lives and dies, daily, rooting for his Mets, Jets, Rangers (hockey) & Knicks.
Yesterday, on "Daily News Live," he was in full-blown Dennis Miller style rant mode, going off about the New York Mets, and at times, Billy Wagner.
Entertaining was an understatement. Hysterical was more accurate. Chris Cotter, Frank Isola, and John Harper, the other members of the panel were also highly entertained, and relished how easy it was to provoke Benigno, and prolong his rant, or, start a new rant.
I hope Benigno has low blood pressure, and a great cardiologist, because it would sadden me to find out if he ever had heart pains, or worse. He kids about it, but, I don't want to see it.
As a die hard sports fan, I respect the obvious passion Benigno has for the teams he roots for, and it is a joy to see him express that passion. He frequently describes things as "stellar," and calls Chris Cotter, and others, "Bro."
With the utmost respect, I thank you for the entertainment...
