Let's Go Pelfrey ! Mets Win 7-0...

That was the chant, heard at Shea tonight, where the Mets crushed the Rockies, 7-0, to win their 9th straight game.

It's the first time the Mets have won 9 games in a row, since 2000.

They shut out the Rockies, who only scored 1 run, in the 3 game series. The Mets have 4 shutouts, in the last 6 games. The last time they have had 4 shutouts, in less than 6 games, was back in 1969.

The Mets head into the break, a half game behind the Phillies, who won today, 6-3.

Mike Pelfrey continued with his dominance, pitching 8 innings of shutout ball. He walked none, and struck out 5. He only gave up 6 hits, and was never really in trouble, until the 8th, when he had 2 men on, one on a hit by pitch, and the other, a single to left. Jerry Manuel let him pitch through the trouble, and he got out of the inning. He even did a curtain call, to the Mets' fans, after he came off the field.

He has won his last 6 decisions. With Maine having trouble, and Martinez barely pitching 5 innings, Pelfrey is looking more and more, like the ace of the staff, over his last 6 starts.

Carlos Beltran started off the night, with a 3 run homer, that went to the back of the Rockies' bullpen, in the first inning, off Mark Redman, who didn't last 4 innings, tonight.

Jose Reyes had a nice, clutch, 2 out single, to score a run.

Carlos Delgado hit a 2 run bomb, for his 17th, of the year.

The Mets now have to just sit tight, for the All-Star break, and start up again, on Thursday, in Cincinnati. I think most of the Mets wish they could keep rolling, without the break, but hopefully, we see them continue their clutch hitting, and incredible pitching.

The Mets are playing their best ball of the year.

Damn, the summer isn't lost !!!

Mets' baseball is fun to watch again !!!
