Mets Provide A Power Surge…

The usual combination of singles, walks, and leaving runners on base, took a welcome vacation last night, as the Mets won a comfortable game last night, thanks to home runs by Carlos Beltran, his 14th, Carlos Delgado, his 16th, and Fernando Tatis, his 3rd.

Five of the Mets’ runs were provided by home runs, a welcome change of pace. The Mets tend to hit lots of singles, draw some walks, and have trouble clearing the bases. Three home runs provided the power the Mets needed to coast to a comfortable win.
