Mets Win 3 In A Row, Omar, Don’t Be A Donkey Now !

The Mets, for the first time, are over .500 since the beginning weeks of June. Oh man, start the band, here come the Mets ! I hope Omar still has the 4- game disasters, in San Diego, fresh in his mind. At that time, the Mets were 30-28, and only 3 ½ games out of first place, having won 7 out of the last 10.

Well, the Mets have played 31 games since then, and are 15-16, and have gained 1 game in the standings. Oh man, they're lighting the division on fire !!! This is being done without Moises Alou, and for the most part, Ryan Church. Omar received a call last month, to gauge his interest in the Indians big man, C.C. Sabathia, who was just traded to the Brewers. The G.M. over there, told Omar that the Mets had what it took to land him. Was Omar surprised to hear that ? I hope not. I hope our Mr. Minaya knows what he can get, with his prospects. I don’t think he needs another G.M. to advise him of that. Or does he?

Now, Omar, don’t use this as an incentive to waste the few prospects we have, to get some guy that is being let go, by a team in a fire sale, it’s not worth it. We have enough A.A.R.P. members, thank you. Don’t get this year’s version of Mo Vaughn. You don’t have many prospects down in the farm system, and I don’t think you should make it completely barren. Save what you have, and ride out the year. I don’t want to read that you traded Nick Evans and Fernando Martinez. Whoever you get is not going to put this team over the top. This team needs more than one player, to get things going. Omar, be smart, and don’t sell the farm, so we can lose again this year. Save the farm, so we have a shot in ‘09.

Whatever Omar does this year, will adversely affect what happens in the Wilpons' gold mine, over in Citifield.
