June 1st starts hurricane season in Florida, and rain happens much more frequently, which has limited Alou’s ability to play in games for Port St. Lucie.
Alou was able to play five innings on Tuesday, having two hits (a home run and a single) in three at-bats.
The Mets are hoping to have Alou activated in time for the Philly series, up next after St. Louis, but, with Alou, his health is a complete uncertainty.
