Dan Murphy spends 1 day in Triple AAA and now is called up the Mets

The young guns are making there move

Things happen quickly sometimes and I'm sure that Dan Muprhy, who spent 1 day with the Triple AAA Zephyrs, is wondering what hit him. He is now on his way to Houston to join the Mets for tonights game against the Astros.

There is no word on who he replaces on the team. It's going to be I think to replace Marlon Anderson who during the last game of the Marlins Series was limping around the bases due to his hamstring giving him problems again. If not Marlon, possibly Nick Evans.

********** update Marlon Anderson is going on the 15 day DL

Dan Murphy was hitting .308, 13 homers and 67 rbi's for the Binghamton Mets before his call up to triple a. He has gotten kudos from his manager and his hitting coach for his hard working ability at becoming an accomplished hitter. His hitting coach at binghamton Luis Netera said that he has become a better hitter this year just by using his entire body in his swing which gives him more pop

He has played 2nd base and has played a little outfield. Hopefully he will get a little playing time. We will update once we get wind of the roster move

This can be exciting. I hope it pays off. They desperately need a corner OF, most notably, a LF.

I hope they give the kid a chance, and maybe he will produce. I just hope they don't rush him (a la Greg Jeffries).

Good Post.
