Mets behind Johan Santana's gem beat bucs 4-0


Johan Santana pitched a complete game shut out today as the Mets beat the Pirates 4-0

It took a 113 pitches to complete the masterpiece today. The last inning, with the Pirates wanting to enjoy the rest of the afternoon , they just about swung at the first pitch and made it look easy in the 9th.

This was Johan's 5th shut out of his career propelled the Mets to there 6th straight win. Also it was there 6th straight road victory which was the first time they have won 6 in a row on the road going back to Sept 2001

Brian Schneider and Carlos Beltran provided the pop . Brian hit one with 1 on and Carlos hit his 17th which was a solo shot.

The Mets finish off the series and the road trip tomorrow afternoon with John Maine on the mound.
