Mets basically down to 2 starting Pitchers.

With Pedro Martinez not able to get through 6 innings with out giving up at least 4 runs and the 4th and 5th starters on this team having 3 combined starts so far this season for the Mets, we have only 2 capable starting pitchers. That being Johan Santana and Mike Pelfrey. Ollie Perez is there I know but he has been up and down and not sure what to expect from him. The problem is that we have 13 games left and Mike Pelfrey has 3 starts left and Johan Santana has only 3 starts. So we have to rely on Ollie Perez,Pedro Martinez, Jon Niese and Brandon Knight and maybe Nelson Figueroa on the remaining 7. This is not what you want to place your pennant hopes on.

Mike Pelfrey has already eclipsed his innings from last year and is over 30 innings more then last years totals which is usually what teams like to holds there young starters too. So how much longer can we expect Pelfrey to perform the way he has most of the year.

Starting pitching for this team has been what we relied on for most of the year. Can we survive 13 more games?
