Sign of the times Met Apple Carted away. As well as the Mets skyline

I have stumbled upon a couple of pics of the dismantling of Shea. Please be advise these pictures are not easy to view if you are a diehard Met fan. They include the carting away of the Mets Big Red apple that has been in place at Shea since the Early 80’s .

Also they have taken the skyline down off the top of the scoreboard. The skyline will be placed somewhere in Citi field. The company that is handling a lot of the signage at Citi field is handling aspects of dismantling the Shea signs.

Great pix. As probably one of the few, I feel the apple was rotten years ago, and should be demolished with Shea.

That beig said, my children love the apple, and seeing my children when they were young, having their faces light up after a Mets home run, just to see the apple, is absolutely priceless, and that tradition should continue at Gil Hodges Memorial Park, er-uh, CitiField.
