Need A Lift To The Airport?

Tony Bernazard, Vice President of Player Development for the Mets, is being considered for the GM position in Seattle. According to WFAN, Bernazard is expected to have his interview with the Mariners today.

Bernazard has gotten some bad press, especially here at 24 Hours From Suicide...in such posts as Do the Wilpons listen, or learn ? Could this really go from bad to worse ? , A Fish Stinks At The Head... , and Mole, snake or weasel ?

The complaint from the Willie Randolph regime was that Bernazard couldn't be trusted; he was friendly with the players, and use this knowledge and private conversations to undermine Randolph.

Under Manuel, we haven't heard any situations of the like. Is it because Manuel is clearly much closer to the players that Randolph was, or is it because Manuel is believed to be closer to Bernazard than Randolph was? The main point is, yes, Randolph deserved to be fired, but not from back biting, revelaing private management conversations and decisions with player, and conduct of the sort, this behaviour is inexcusable.

The Mets might do well for themselves if Bernazard is chosen for the position, and chooses to leave the Mets organization.

I'm sure there would be a line of people asking Tony if he needs a lift to the airport.
