Braves Strike First

Dan Graziano - nj.com is reporting that the Braves have all but completed a deal that would send Javier Vazquez from the ChiSox to the Braves in exchange for infielder Brent Lillibridge. The teams are only awaiting the physical of both players to formerly complete the deal.

Omar has reportedly been kicking the tires on Vazquez. Graziano, along with many, wonder how this will affect the Mets. Niese is young, and would benefit from a full year at AAA Buffalo, Pelfrey had a solid year, but certainly tired after pitching around 200 innings, where he had never pitched more than 152 in any pro season; John Maine is coming back from shoulder surgery, and Johan is coming back from knee surgery.

There are many questions regarding the Mets starting staff. I never wanted Vazquez, but it always concerns me that the Braves can always see something in a player that no one else can.
