Met Signings







The Mets signed four players today: Nelson Figueroa, lefthander Adam Bostick, infielder Andy Green and catcher Rene Rivera. The four will be invited to spring training as nonroster players.

Figueroa, 34, pitched with both the Mets and AAA New Orleans. He pitched 45.1 innings, giving up 48 hits. With the Mets he made six starts.

Bostick, 25, only pitched 11 games due to a knee injury which required surgery. He was 2-2 with a 6.04 ERA. He spent the entire year AAA New Orleans.

Green, 31, spent time with the Reds Louisville team of the International League and Mets AAA affiliate, the New Orleans Zephyrs. Green hit .233 with 15 doubles, two triples, five home-runs and 19 RBI while playing primarily second base for the Louisville club. With New Orleans, he hit .331 with ten doubles, two triples, eight home-runs, and 28 RBI in 52 games. He has spent time in the Major Leagues with Arizona in 2004, 2005, and 2006. He also spent time playing in Japan.

Rivera, 25, a catcher, had been with Seattle since 2001. He had played only 53 games with the Mariners, in parts of 2004, 2005 and 2006 and has a .227 big league average with seven doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI.
