It looks like the Mets are looking to unload Brian Schneider and since the Red Sox might be done with Jason Varitek the Red Sox are showing interest in the Mets catcher. This is being reported by the Washington Post this evening.
The Mets would hopefully get some pitching in return for Schneider and then have to sign a free agent catcher. If the Mets want Varitek they would have to sign him to a multi year deal. He is great with the pitchers but his offense suffered greatly in 2008

That would be AWFUL.......Varitek's day in the sun has set.... he can't hit and if someone brings up the "he's good in the clubhouse" one more time I could scream - that is the most idiot reason to trade someone and I know OMar is smarter then that. You don't spend the bulk of your career in one place then walk into another club house and poof you straigtened it out. Also straightening out a club house that people "CLAIM" to know is bad, with no proof!!!
