Mets Front Runners For Lowe?

In an E-Mail From ESPN's Jerry Crasnick to Central Maine Sports Blog Crasnick believes the Mets are the front runners for starting righthanded pitcher Derek Lowe.

With the Yankees spending a fortune on AJ Burnett and CC (Cha-Ching) Sabathia, Crasnick believes that removes the Yankees from the Lowe sweepstakes. This might open the door for the Mets.

Lowe would be a solid edition to the Mets rotation. He is an innings eater with very successful post-season experience. His winning experiences would be an asset to the Mets staff. Lowe has succeeded on the big stage in the northeast, and the pressure of NY should be no problem for him.

The next few weeks should prove interesting for the Mets and Lowe.
