Oliver Perez was offered arbitration by the Mets today. He is expected to reject the Mets offer in hopes on signing a long term deal either with the Mets or another team. If another team signs Perez, the Mets will receive a first round and a sandwich round draft pick (between the first and second rounds).
None of the other Met free agents were offered arbitration. That list includes:
Moises Alou
Luis Ayala
Damion Easley
Orlando Hernandez
Pedro Martinez
Ramon Martinez
Ricardo Rincon
Matt Wise
In similar news, the Rockies offered arbitration to Brian Fuentes. Fuentes now is in the same position as OP.
