He did have close to 1,000 OPS when Carlos Lee went down with a broken finger. The Astros did not offer a contract to the 3rd baseman and sometime outfielder. The Mets might think he is too expensive but they might be able to sign him to a 1 year deal.
The only problem would be where to play him since the Mets already signed Fernando Tatis to play left field and platoon with Daniel Murphy. Wiggy can still hit a bomb which is something the Mets have always lacked with bench players the last 2 years.
