In reading around the web over at Si It seems that Jon Heyman believes the Mets are behind in the bidding for Derek Lowe. If you read elsewhere it has been stated that the Braves have little interest in Lowe right now because of his age. There is also reports that the Phillies might be interested.
The only problem here there is no public offer. If the Mets are behind who are they behind and why are these offers not public. It really shows how much Scott Boras tries to weave his web. I am sure that Boras and Heyman play off each other. If there is an offer lets read about it with a dollar amount and years!! Then we can say the Mets are being the eightball here.

Eventhough it's driving us nuts, Omar may very well be in the drivers seat. One thing to be concerned about: if Lowe signs with the Mets (please!), would he be disheartened because he feels he was underpaid? Or, would he suck it up, be professional, and be the pitcher we expect him to be?
