In a story over at Newsday.com word comes out that the Mets will sit on there offer for Derek Lowe. The source mentions that the Mets are feeling good about there intial offer and dont feel that there are serious suitors for Lowe's services and they do not want to bid against themselves. Lowe is a good pitcher and I am sure that there might be 1 team that might want to get involved with Lowe so hopefully the Mets do not blow this one. They also feel that if they went after Ollie Perez that it is not a big fall back.
On last night's MLB "hot stove show" Scott Boras was asking about salary for Lowe which of course he side stepped but he did mention that the "New York Teams" have done fine in selling out there luxury boxes etc. He might be playing the Mets like Sabathia played the Yankees with making them add another year. I doubt it but with Boras I am sure he expects the Mets to up the offer regardless if there are other teams involved.
