Mets Sign Minor League Catcher


The Mets signed catcher Omir Santos to a minor league deal. Santos played with the Baltimore Orioles and the AAA Norfolk Tides last season. Santos batted .269 with one home run and 36 RBIs in 84 games for the Triple-A Norfolk Tides in 2008. He appeared in 11 games for the Orioles. Santos is 27-years-old, and batted .100 for the Orioles. He had one hit in ten at bats.
