As we sit sipping our hot coffee’s on another frigid morning in New York it is hard to fathom that opening day at Citi Field is only 100 days away. I can still remember the last day at Shea like it was yesterday. Watching Mr. Helms jack one over the outfield fence to dash any hopes we had on winning that game and have a 1 game play off . I remember the excitement the day started with when I luckily saw Mets announcer Gary Cohen gush excitingly about what the Mets plan to do after they won by showing the Brewers game on the video board.
After the game and the ceremonies we walked around Shea with others taking our final pictures as we looked over at Citi Field and couldn’t believe that Shea was now in the past.
Well now in January we wait for the Mets to complete the roster before they head to spring training down in Pt St Lonely. Then it’s back to New York with our new closers and our New Stadium. 100 days from today there will be the sound of baseball in Citi Field. The place from what I have seen looks pretty amazing from the bridge out in the outfield to the place for the new apple and all the new places we will be able to gorge ourselves. 100 days before the 2009 Home season gets underway. Is it April yet?
