Johan Santana debuts in Spring game

Johan finally found himself facing live action and pitched 2 and 2/3 innings against the Marlins last night and gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He gave up a home run to Dan Uggla in the second after cruising in the first on only 10 pitches. He wound up responsible for 3 runs after being pulled in the 3rd with one on when Matt DeSalvo came in and gave up another home run to Uggla.

All in all Johan seemed to do fine. Based on the radar gun they should on the telecast he hit 91 with MPH and was able to fool some of the young players with his change up and had 2 punchouts for the evening.

The Mets still have to see whats up with Tim Redding who got mauled for 9 runs in 2 innings and gave up 3 home runs who came in after DeSalvo. Thankfully by then I had other things to do so sadly I missed it.
