Johan Santana is heading to NY for a look at his elbow

Marty Noble reports over at MLB.com that Johan is indeed heading to NY for a check up on his elbow. Not sure if a MRI has been scheduled.

Pedro Martinez sends his best.

Even with Johan heading to NY, Dan Warthen told reporters this morning that Santana looked good in his morning bullpen session throwing 35 pitches at 80– to 85–percent effort before he left for New York.

MRI should stand for Mets Really Injured.

This could snuff out high expectations for the season if this injury is more serious than the Met are letting on.

Lets hope it is just precautionary, and after a few days/weeks rest, he will be the Johan of old.
