Over at Amazing Stories it is being reported that Jon Niese is heading to the minor league camp. With pitchers now getting into a routine and pitching more innings per start Niese was less likely to get the pitching he needs. Also with Livan Hernandez pitching pretty well the 5th starter questions are pointing to a winner at this point in the spring.
Seems a bit early but things of course could change. The Mets also sent down Connor Robertson and catcher Robinson Cancel. Pitchers Kyle Snyder, Jon Switzer, Heriberto Ruelas. The mets re assigned Matt Desalvo and Casey Fossum.
Looks like right now Freddy Garcia is still with the team.
