Marlon Anderson, who pinch hit in last nights game against the Marlins and flew out to right, was designated for assignment to make room for Livan Hernandez. Marlon who was 0-4 for as a pinch hitter in the first 4 games for the Mets was the odd man out. The Mets felt it was more important to hold on to pitcher Darren O'Day . Wish Marlon the best.
Tim Redding is playing down in St Lucie and has been pitching off the mound . He is hoping for a May 1st activation.
Livan Hernandez faces Ricky Nalasco in game 2 of the series .
