While watching him bat the one thing you could notice is that he was battling. The Mets were down by a run and Gary Sheffield was fouling pitches off . I was thinking to myself to hit # 500 here to get the score tied again would be meaniful .
We had just got to our seats the inning before after spending it out by the bridge terrace talking with a bunch of Met fans.
From our seats we had a clear shot of his home run and the questions would be would it stay fair. Sheff hit is 500th home run and we were there. The place went nuts! Congrads to Mr Sheff.
