Mets starting catcher Brian Schneider was put on the 15 day DL before last night's game against the defending Wild Card winners, the Milwaukee Brewers.
Schneider, who has been bothered by a mid back strain, has been unable to get any relief: "Trying to get treatment, but it's just bothering me. I'm going to try to give it a day or two to try to get it better."
To replace Schneider, the Mets racalled Omir Santos from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League.
Santos did make an appearance in last night's 5-4 victory over the Brewers.
