Johan Honored

Mets left-handed Ace, Johan Santana, won Pitcher of The Month for April. Santana had a 1.10 ERA while going 3-1. He struck out 44 batters in 32.2 IP. If not for a blown save by JJ Putz, and a fielding error by the enigmatic Daniel Murphy, Santana could have easily been 5-0.

Santana has won the award in consecutive months, after garnering the award last September for his dominance down the stretch. Last September Santana was 4-0 with a 1.87 ERA.

Including his tenure with the Twins, this is the eighth time Santana has earned this honor.
