The Mets and David Wright making the Most of May so far

Ok so we are only 8 days into May but that is about 25% of the month so far and the Mets hitting seems to be picking up some steam lead by April's fan least favorite David Wright.

The Mets are 5-1 in the month of May and even with Beltran leading the league with his close to .400 batting avg, David Wright is leading the team so far this month.

David is hitting .450 with 2 homers and 7 rbis and a .900 slg percentage to Beltrans .364 avg with 3 homers and 6 rbis and a .818 slugging.

It is nice to see David wake up from his April funk. Last night he stroked one to dead center for a homer over 408 feet away. Plus had a couple of single up the middle. Not sure what his issue was . This team needs him to drive the ball and get big hits. It was weird to see him being booed . Not that he did not deserve it.

Others of note so far this month are Carlos Delgado with a .385 avg on 5 for 13 but with only 1 extra base hit and Ramon Castro in 4 games has hit .438 on 7 for 16.

On the other end Ryan Church is slumping bad with another strike out last night as a pinch hitter. He is 1 for 16 this month and Jose Reyes is hitting a paltry .115.
