Ramirez Busted

All through the winter fans were clamoring for the Mets to sign LF Manny Ramirez. Ramirez, known for his HR power, uncanny RBI ability, as well as his respectable batting average, will now be known for something else...a PED user!

Bill Shaikin and Dylan Hernandez - LA Times report that Manny will be suspended for 50 games, starting tonight, for testing positive for Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED's). Ramirez won't be eligible to return until July 3rd.

There has been no comment from Ramirez nor his agent Scott Boras.

According to the article, "
Ramirez is expected to attribute the test results to medication received from a doctor for a personal medical issue, according to a source familiar with matter but not authorized to speak publicly. "

Now Met fans, are you still upset with Omar and company for not pursuing Ramirez? Now the Dodgers hot start, along with Manny's hot start (.348 batting average, .492 OBP, and .641 Slugging Pct.) will be in question.
Sometimes the best deals are the one's never made.
