The count was 3-1. Raphie boy Kiner and Mex were saying he needs to swing. He needs to be agressive. That throughout the year Castillo would just sit and watch that pitch go by. Not yesterday! Is it possible Castillo heard this convo? ..Maybe not but batting right, his power side, Castillo launched a fast ball into the second deck for a 2 run home his first of the year.
He might have lost the game for the Mets against the Yankees, but Louie has been doing his thing and is making the most of it after last years bomb of a season.
So far this year he is .304 and has and onbase percentage of .398. If you check O- Dogs obp its is hovering around .365. Castillo is leading the league with an over .400 on base percentage since early July.
Most of the times good years on a team that is sub par is lost but we will see if this saves Castillo and will it change the Mets mind and keep him in NY for 2010 since O Dog is a free agent. If anything if he does get traded his value has gone up!
