The Mets lost to the Giants in 10 innings today, by the score of 5-4, in what's becoming an oh-too-familiar blown game by K-Rod.
More importantly, David Wright left the game in the fourth inning after getting drilled in the head by a Matt Cain fastball. Wright was unable to avoid the chance meeting with the ball, and hit the deck after being hit in the head.
Wright was brought to the Hospital For Special Surgery about 50 minutes after being hit. A CT Scan was negative, but Wright did suffer a concussion and will remain in the hospital overnight for observation.
It's official, the Mets core has been peeled. Wright; Beltran; Delgado; Reyes - all injured this season. It is not yet known how long Wright will be out, but maybe the Mets will put him on a plane to Colorado...

I was thinking that it's a good thing that the Mets are home for the next week and they don't need to risk a concussed player on an airplane.
what was Matt Cain tipping is cap for when he was leaving the game? Fans were booing him since he hit the only guy that was in the lineup all season...Totally classless
