Should the Mets take a chance at Carlos Zambrano in the off season.

First this team over the last 2 games have been unwatchable. It troubles me to start thinking of next year already when I have grown accustomed to having my hopes dashed on the last day of the season by the Marlins. It is almost tradition.

Well there is some chatter that Zambrano will be offered via the trade in the off season. Should the Mets take a shot? I agree with
Mike Silva at baseball digest with Omar if he gets the call to make a trade to just say no.

This guy can be a difference maker and has been a work horse in the past. 200 innings he pitched in 5 straight years but now he has back issues and shoulder issues. Now he can probably hit better then 25% of the Mets roster right now but your not going to pay him 50M to hit.

The Mets should spend there $$ wisely this off season and use there scouts out there and pick up someone below the radar. I still think if the Angels let John Lackey go he could slot in right behind Johan Santana. 201 days to opening day.
