As Predicted Slow Start To Off Season Moves

As we inch closer to thanksgiving there seems to be the resolve that we wont see anything more then minor moves in the next couple of days.

Omar Visquel signed a deal with the White Sox on monday to be there back up. The 43 year old will get about 1.3M . Besides that there were a couple of minor league deals and thats it.

Everything for the Mets has been about rumors. There was even some chat, why I dont know that Jermaine Dye was looking to play first base and somehow since the Mets need a first baseman that they would be interested but thats a load of BS.

Going back a year and a 1,000 or so posts ago there really was just chatter heading into the turkey break. Things didnt get going to the Winter Meetings which take place in about 2 weeks this year.

Just a coupel of observations. If the Mets need a set up guy Bobby Jenks might be on the outs in Chicago again with people not happy with his conditioning. Of course then the Mets should be not interested but of course these are the Mets and they could use him in a set up role if Jenks has the interest.

Pitching which the Mets need might see the Mets in a war for the services of John Lackey.

If there is a trade to be had like when the Mets signed Putz and Green at least years Winter Meetings, who might that Mets have in trade this year? Castillo? Parnell? Heilman? oh yeah he is gone!

Omar has a lot of work to do in the coming weeks!
