Mets fron the past Henderson and Allen land coaching gigs


Former Mets stars Neil Allen and Steve Henderson have landed coaching jobs. Henderson who had been on the Rays staff lately as the teams hitting coach . He had been in the Rays organization since the Rays inception. He will be the Phillies minor league outfield/base running instructor. Hendu played for the Mets in there down years in the late 70's early 80's and was part of the midnight massacre trade that sent Tom Seaver to the Reds.

Neil Allen will be the pitching coach of the Rays High A affiliate the Charlotte stone Crabs. He was part of the Rays double AA team the Biscuits for the last few years but the change allows Allen to spend more time at home. Allen pitched for the Mets from 79-83 and was part of the deal that brought the Mets Mr Mex, Keith Hernandez. Dam I feel old..
