The Mets waited until the last moment but there is word today that the Mets will be offering contracts to Bengie Molina and free agent Jason Bay.
Earlier on WFAN Mr Mike mentioned that Bay was the other offer besides Molina. NO details have emerge on what Bay will be offered but he did turn down a offer of 4 years for 60M from the Red Sox before entering free agency....
Not sure if this will knock the Mets off the Lackey trail and of course who knows if Bay prefers NY to Boston.
