Carlos Delgado to be scouted this weekend by the Mets.

Its no secret that the Mets are interested in bringing back the 37 year old to play for them on the 2010 squad. Even during the Jason Bay presser Omar went on to say that Delgado is a player the Mets have enjoyed being part of there franchise.

Now that Delgado is playing in the Winter league in Puerto Rico and hitting as per the latest story over at
MLB.com , Delgado is helping his cause by clocking his 1st homer on thursday. Of course Delgado has been limited to a DH role and has not played the field as of yet. If the Mets are planning to scout him this coming weekend you would think he would want to get a game out in the field before he gets scouted.

The Mets have Mr Murphy as there first baseman right now who hit 12 dingers last year . Of course if Delgado is healthy enough to play he can add to a nice addition to the line up with Bay already secured.
