Mets all time 9 batting by position.

It looks like MLB is doing something for either the All Star Game or something else as they ask fans to vote for there all time 9 by position for each team over at Mets.com . It is funny seeing pitchers batting performances. I love the fact that the infamous George Stone is mentioned in the same batting pitching company as Doc Gooden and I like the schools in Denver Mike Hampton. Check out the listings for 3rd base.

Stats below include year Avg Hr Rbi R SB
Howard Johnson 1989 .287 36 101 104 41
Ray Knight 1986 .298 11 76 51 2
Len Randle 1977 .304 5 27 78 33
Robin Ventura 1999 .301 32 120 88 1
David Wright 2007 .325 30 107 113 34

Len Randle? are you kidding me? Why not Wayne Garrett? he hit in the .250's in the 73 season and had 16 homers. Ok so he didn't hit close to .300 and we know that he has no shot of winning but he was part of the Mets when they were in the World Series and honestly he was there when the Mets had already reached there peak and some of us related to the red head when the team took a nose dive in '74 and 75.

Checking out second base here is the crew they have just with there average. Will people go with Backman because he was part of a World Series team?

Edgardo Alfonzo 1999 .304
Wally Backman 1986 .320
Luis Castillo 2009 .302
Ron Hunt 1964 .303
Gregg Jefferies 1990 .283
Jeff Kent 1993 .270

Where's Felix Millan for 2B? That's an outrage!
