Way out of Centerfield Carlos Beltran has knee surgery out for 12 weeks

We just flipped the forgetful pages of 2009 and now we are just a couple of week in new hope and a new season and 2010 and we cant even enjoy that now.

According to Marty Noble over at MLB.com the Mets Centerfield had right knee surgery Wednesday and will be out for 12 weeks which mean goodbye opening day and hello Angel Pagan in Centerfield.

Of course now the drama will unfold since no one in the Mets brass would make comment. Omar is in Arizona for the Gm Meetings and couldnt be reached. In the article Jerry Manuel did make comment that he just found out about the surgery but didn't know that Beltran would have surgery yesterday.

Beltran didn't seem to have an issue as the off season started but the right knee got worse.

2 things come to mind. Would Bay have signed if he knew the Mets didn't have there starting Centerfielder able to play come opening day and will this change what the Mets might go after in spring training.

As Joe B would say.. Oh the Drama ....It will start I am sure today on the airwaves.

I'm looking at the positive. We're less than 12 weeks away from Opening Day.
