Meet the new shortstop Ruben Tejada

As the news sinks in that we have lost Jose Reyes again we now have to see who be the shorstop for the Mets as the season starts.

It will be between the 2 million dollar man Alex Cora and 20 year old Ruben Tejada

Ruben spent his time last year in binghamton hitting .289 with 46 rbi's and 5 dingers

Manager Jerry will spend the next couple of weeks showcasing the young infielder in sprinign traning games.

Will Tejada be ready for the challenge? As quotyed by Mr Rubin "It's baseball," Tejada said. "Everywhere I play the game normal. I'm ready for everything."

Wait until he heres the boos in NY

Of course now we dont know when Reyes will be back since the timeline is 2-8 weeks. He will be checked every week with blood work and be given small exertion tests to see if levels spike. Reyes is going to go nuts I am sure.

Cant help to wonder if this was 2009 would Reyes be playing already or would the Mets have handled it the same way?
